Our Story

Masala House was founded in 2015 by Chef Raj Sharma with a simple mission: to bring the authentic flavors of India to Concord, California. Born and raised in Delhi, Chef Raj learned the art of Indian cooking from his grandmother, who taught him the importance of freshly ground spices and traditional cooking techniques.

After moving to the United States and working in several renowned restaurants, Chef Raj decided to open Masala House to share his culinary heritage with the community. What started as a small family-run restaurant has now grown into a beloved dining destination known for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality.

At Masala House, we believe that food is more than just sustenance—it's a way to connect with culture, create memories, and bring people together. Every dish we serve is prepared with love, using time-honored recipes and the finest ingredients.
